The Pledge for Life Partnership (PfL) is pleased to announce that the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley has awarded $3,560 to PfL for the Life Education Center’s Parent Education Social and Emotional Learning Project.

Connecting to their mission to coordinate resources and initiatives to improve the quality of life for children and their families, Pledge for Life’s Life Education Center programs will utilize this funding to continue its efforts in promoting the social and emotional well-being. This effort will provide parents and other caring adults with information to raise awareness and offer guidance for promoting healthy mental and emotional growth. Parents of students who participate in the Life Education Center programs will receive the SEL information. Information will also be distributed at other community engagement activities and events.

The Life Education Center programs will continue with strategies for using social and emotional learning (SEL) to prevent bullying, emphasizing throughout the lessons respect for others and appreciating differences.
